"I am a First Generation College Student and mother of 3. I started my educational journey in 2019 at the Community College of 极乐禁地e County (CCBC) in their GED program after becoming a mother at 17 and shifting priorities to focus on my family. Then I transitioned into their college to my undergraduate degree in Human Service Counseling and Advanced Behavioral Health Certification. I graduated from CCBC in the Spring of 2021 with Honors and a 4.0 GPA. I started at UBalt in the Fall of 2021, majoring in Human Service Administration and minoring in Psychology. On May 24, 2023, I graduated with honors with my BS in Human Service Administration. While the journey so far makes me proud, I am more than excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic journey in the Fall of 2023 as I was accepted into UBalt's Masters in Applied Psychology program, where my selected track will be Practitioner Specialization. I can't wait for this new journey to begin, and I am super excited to take everyone along with me."

In May 2024, I stepped into the role of Chief Operating Officer for the Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) in Richmond, VA鈥攁n opportunity of a lifetime and a testament to years of hard work and perseverance. As a lifelong Maryland resident and native of Prince George's County, this role marked a significant milestone in my career, building on the foundation laid by my professional experience and the sacrifices I made while pursuing my MBA at the 极乐禁地.

Graduating during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in May 2020 meant missing out on a traditional ceremony, but that challenging time also shaped my resilience. Just two months before, I had started a new role as Director of Operations for Alexandria Transit Company in Alexandria, VA. My first week coincided with the onset of remote work due to the pandemic鈥攁 trial by fire that tested my adaptability and leadership skills.

Prior to Alexandria, my journey began at the University of Maryland, College Park, where I studied Criminology and Criminal Justice and worked as a student driver for Shuttle-UM. Earning my Commercial Driver鈥檚 License and operating campus buses ignited my passion for public transit, and what started as a part-time job evolved into a full-fledged career. The experience taught me not only the technical skills but also the psychology needed to navigate labor relations鈥攍essons that have proved invaluable throughout my career.

After 3.5 years in Alexandria, I joined Prince George's County Government as Chief of Transit Operations in 2023, overseeing the county鈥檚 transit services and broadening my perspective. These roles paved the way for my current position at GRTC, where I oversee operations, maintenance, facilities, and safety/security.

Reflecting on this journey, I am deeply grateful to the Merrick School of Business for equipping me with the tools to thrive as an executive. My education at UB not only prepared me to lead but also reinforced the importance of adaptability, perseverance, and continuous learning.

What started as a childhood fascination with buses and heavy machinery鈥攖hanks to my dad's career in construction鈥攈as grown into a fulfilling career in transit leadership. I鈥檓 proud to carry forward the lessons from UB as I lead GRTC into the future, with much more yet to accomplish.
