When Vernon H.C. Wright, B.S. '69, established the Wright Business Global Scholars Endowment, he did so to help Merrick
School of Business students develop their skills, broaden their world view in matters
of international business. The Wright Scholars fund helps our students travel and
learn more about the cultures, economies, in the countries we visit.
each year, The Merrick School's faculty and administrators work hard to delivery relevant
global field study experiences.
The students experienced a lot in Panama during winter break 2025. For a week they
visited several companies that were focused on shipping and logistics. Here they are
on their last visit to Banco Lafise where they got insights on the differences between
Panamanian and U.S. banking practices.
A dozen students went to Lucerne, Switzerland in 2023. The host university HSLU –
Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, welcomed Dr. Mikhail Pevzner and
his students on June 4. The experienced visits around Lucerne, Basel and Zurich.
They were exposed to topics like currencies and geopolitics, international logistics,
sustainability, leadership, the Swiss banking system, fintech and blockchain, customers'
insights, diversity, equity and inclusion.
Here they are in the Alps at an altitude of 3,238 meters (10,623 feet) on Mt. Titlis.
The Global Field Study to Bangkok, Thailand never disappoints. We've traveled there
quite a few times over the years. This a group photo with our friends at our partner
