Trained in mentorship tactics, our faculty and staff mentors develop mentoring styles
that meld the personal and professional. Once paired with student(s), mentors connect
with mentees, flexing their skills in empathy, communication and leadership.
Mentors help students to:
Confidently transition into the UBalt community
Maximize use of campus resources
Develop theirsense of belonging at UBalt and build purposeful networks tailored to their goals and interests

Building rapport with and gain insight into the UBalt student body
Improve interpersonal, leadership, and listening skills
Fulfill community service commitment that could aid professional development
Make connections with fellow UBalt colleagues
Mentor time commitment:
Faculty and staff volunteers are matched with one (or more) UBalt student(s) for the
academic year.
Volunteers are expected to meet (in-person or virtually) with their mentee at least
2-3 times per semester or as agreed upon.
