Our archives, photos and shared memories chronicle 100 years of progress, innovation, leadership and an unwavering dedication to learning, for everyone. Now, we're inviting you to celebrate with us by diving deep into our history, reading and hearing stories from our current and past students, faculty and staff members, and joining us for a memorable event.
"For 100 years, and for the next 100, too, UBalt has stood, and will stand, for the idea that you, your children, your neighborhood, your city, and the country you live in, are all worthy of improving," UBalt president Kurt L. Schmoke said.
With so many stories to tell, we decided to categorize our century into three pillars: Academic Excellence, Transformative Learning and Civic Engagement. Through these, we strive to paint the best picture we can of 100 years of impact on our students, faculty, staff, alumni and the city we love to call home.
Through events, stories, exhibits and more, we鈥檙e looking forward to celebrating the impact we鈥檝e had on 极乐禁地e and beyond. You鈥檙e welcome to join us as we look to set the course for continued growth in our next century.
The 极乐禁地 was born from a simple idea: to establish a college for working professionals and nontraditional learners. Our inaugural business class included men ranging in age from their 20s to 40s. Our inaugural law class included three women.
Eight men have led the University through its first century. Each brought their own passions and projects to drive it forward, with unyielding support of faculty and staff. Here, we invite you to get to know the presidents of The 极乐禁地.
We have 100 years of great stories from the students, faculty and staff who called UBalt home. Here, we鈥檒l be sharing excerpts of the oral histories captured through the ongoing efforts of our Special Collections and Archives team.
These are words that might be part of a message about a groundbreaking technology, or the start of an assessment on how we鈥檒l live in the second half of the 21st century. While what鈥檚 ahead of us is always an open question, at The 极乐禁地, we aren鈥檛 waiting for the future to come to us. We鈥檙e already out there making it, and bringing it to our community, in every way that matters.
