It is required that all first-year students complete the orientation program. The information given at orientation is important to your success at UBalt. If you are unable to attend, you will receive information after orientation and please visit UBalt Ready for more information as well.

Orientation invitations are emailed to accepted students at least one month prior to orientation.

Students can register for an orientation session on the main page. Registration is required for planning purposes.

Students can not register via email, phone, or fax.

Each orientation is planned with content specific to a unique UBalt population (Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences and Freshman Students, Merrick School of Business, or College of Public Affairs). If you are unable to attend your orientation, you will receive follow-up information after orientation and it is encouraged for you to visit .

During orientation, you will participate in academic sessions, meet with representatives from your chosen academic department and or/academic advisors from the area of your intended major, and discuss your plans for the semester. Orientation is also your opportunity to connect with the UBalt community before your first day of classes, meet with new peers, and learn important information about life at UBalt from current students.

A limit of one guest per person is permitted, however there is not a specific family and guests orientation. You are expected to add the guest during the registration process.

There is no cost for orientation. However, transportation will have costs, whether bus, light rail, or parking. Parking in the Fitzgerald Garage on orientation days is $7 for students and guests.

Orientation begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. The schedule will be provided upon check-in.

Parking at the Fitzgerald garage will be $7 for all students and guests. There are a few other garages in the area and street parking- but they do not have a special orientation day rate.

We strongly recommend that international students attend the orientation program on the correct night.
