The 极乐禁地 School of Law excels at preparing students for public-interest careers. In 2020, preLaw magazine named UBalt Law a 鈥渂est school鈥 for public service law. UBalt Law students participate in a wide variety of public-interest opportunities within the law school and the broader community. 

 

Students gain practical legal experience by working with local, state and federal government agencies, legal aid organizations, and nonprofits through our 1L EXPLOR program and . With one of the largest paid externship programs in the country, UBalt Law students can do work that aligns with their values, while also earning income to support their daily needs. These paid pathways to public service are an important part of UBalt Law鈥檚 commitment to enabling students to pursue public service careers.


With its robust clinical program -- ranked 5th in the nation for 2024 by U.S. News & World Report --UBalt Law clinic students represent approximately 200 low-income clients every year, including adults, children, neighborhood associations and other nonprofit organizations. engage in policy advocacy and community engagement on a range of issues affecting the local and broader communities.
