Michael Davenport, a 2024 graduate of The 极乐禁地's M.A. in Integrated Design program, has been named a co-winner of a for his short film, The Busheler of 极乐禁地e. The Telly Awards are an international competition for outstanding video content.
The piece, which Davenport did while he was a student in the program, received the
accolade in the Bronze category for non-broadcast work by students. Davenport is listed
as director of photography, with Jordan Redmond of Coppin State University listed
as grip.
Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards "honor excellence in video and television across all screens," according to the organization's website. It captures entries representing local, regional and cable television commercials, as well as non-broadcast video and television programming.
"The Telly Awards today celebrates the best work in the video medium in an exciting new era of the moving image on and offline," the group says. It notes that this year more than 12,000 entries were received from throughout the U.S. and around the world.
Jacob DeGeal, assistant professor of Integrated Design and director of the M.A. in Integrated Design program, praised Davenport's achievements in the video medium.
"Michael's work always sets a high standard for conceptual development, professional craft, unique perspective, and all-around delight," Prof. DeGeal says. "His video work is imbued with an earnest humanity and an authentic sense of style."
