Over a full day of conversation and collaboration, the summit will bring together academic leaders, industry experts, policymakers, and innovators to address the urgent challenges and emerging opportunities created by AI's rapid evolution. The AI Summit is free and open to the public. Registration details are linked below.

Maryland Secretary of Labor Portia Wu and Maryland Secretary of Higher Education Sanjay Rai will appear as special guests during the summit. They will be joined by an array of speakers covering the current AI landscape, with a focus on the role of education in supporting the technology in ways that enhance both teaching and learning.

Before joining the state, Secretary Wu served as managing director of U.S. public policy at Microsoft, where she focused on the future of work and how to develop talent pipelines in the face of rapid technological change. Wu has held numerous other roles in public policy, including Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training at the U.S. Department of Labor and Special Assistant for Workforce Policy under President Barack Obama.

Secretary Rai is a higher education champion with more than 30 years of experience in faculty and leadership positions at a community college, liberal arts university, and state-supported institution. He is recognized for his work globally as a faculty member, scholar, and leader.
